Tectonic undercurrent

Things are quite far away and gravity glances in your direction at the most inopportune times. I am wearing desert(er) flecktarn, which doesn't go with (tales of the) riverbank mud. I glue my arms and legs back on so I survive. She giggles underneath the sheet. There is a rhythm to these things. It's just so slow that humans can't quite work out if they're supposed to fall off things in waltz time (that's actually for docking spaceships), 9/16ths or biscuit factory.

The facility was clearly abandoned. At some stage, the valves in the storage tanks had been opened and the testbed was now flooded. Nearby, the remains of a burned-out rocket sled poked from the undergrowth.
