Spill-trunnion vs. rector.

Fairly regularly, the words don't come. Some do, of course. The ones that are always there. Those obvious ones that would turn up 'for the opening of an envelope' or 'like a bad penny'. I'm sure they're nice enough in their own way, but they talk about sport and cars and her at number 27 and her doings.

It's the other words I miss. They're off having adventures involving catafalques and sarcophagi or having a bit of a coruscate before limbering up for an evening's scintillation.

I suspect, though, that it's for the best. There's only so much incandescence one can manage before it becomes quotidian.
